Breaking the Cycle: Why I Became a Recovery Coach (and How I Can Help You Do the Same)

I used to believe that chaos was normal.

Growing up in a household shaped by addiction and dysfunction, I learned to tiptoe around feelings, ignore my own needs, and carry the weight of other people’s pain. For a long time, I didn’t know that what I was experiencing wasn’t okay—I just thought it was life.

But pain has a way of waking us up.

At some point, I realized I was stuck in patterns that weren’t mine to carry. I was living out a story that had been handed to me, not one I had chosen. The shame, the fear, the feeling that I had to earn my worth—it wasn’t mine. And I decided it was time to break the cycle.

That decision led me to do deep personal work. It wasn’t easy. But it was life-changing. And now, as a recovery coach, I help others do the same.

What Is Recovery Coaching?

Recovery coaching is a powerful, forward-focused partnership. It’s not therapy or sponsorship—it’s about taking your lived experience, owning your story, and intentionally creating the life you want.

I work with people who are ready to reclaim their power—especially those who have been affected by addiction, either directly or through their family system. Many of my clients come from different walks of life, whether addicts/alcoholics themselves or loving family members of those who struggle.

Who I Help

If you’ve ever felt like:

  • You’re carrying shame that doesn’t belong to you

  • You’re constantly “people-pleasing” or walking on eggshells

  • You feel disconnected from your purpose

  • You want to break family patterns but don’t know where to start

…you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

My Approach

My coaching style is heart-centered, practical, and rooted in lived experience. Together, we explore what’s holding you back, what you truly want, and how to create aligned action toward a life that feels authentic and free.

This isn’t about fixing you—because you’re not broken. It’s about helping you remember who you are beneath the pain, shame, and survival strategies.

Addiction: A Choice, A Disorder, An Outcome

People love to argue about addiction —is it a disease, or is it a choice? I used to wrestle with that question too. But the more I’ve seen, lived, and learned, the more I believe it’s not that simple.

When EVERYTHING changes.....

Let’s be honest — change sucks sometimes. It’s uncomfortable. It’s messy. It shakes up everything we’ve worked so hard to feel “normal”...
